KIMBERLY BECKHAM

Kimberly Beckham has been with Armbrust & Brown since 1998. Her real estate practice involves advising clients in the areas of acquisition and disposition of real property, financing, utility development, and local government regulation. She represents real estate developers, homebuilders, investors, and individuals and business entities in negotiation and drafting of real estate purchase and sale agreements, leases, financing instruments, as well as due diligence reviews of all aspects of real estate transactions. She also represents landlords and tenants in leases for office, industrial, and retail properties. In addition, Kim is general counsel to a number of municipal utility districts and other special districts in Central Texas whose primary purpose is to provide water, sewer, and drainage services and infrastructure for major real estate developments.

Kim is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the State of Texas, and prior to law school she practiced public accountancy with KPMG and Ernst & Young.

Representative Experience

  • Represented owner of one of the largest retail and mixed-use developments in Central Texas, handling leasing of commercial tenant space, advising on land use and entitlement matters, and representing the client in the sale of the project
  • Represented purchaser in acquisition of several tracts in South Austin for redevelopment of large retail mixed-used project
  • Represented developer of one of the Austin area’s largest high-end golf course communities, advising on land use and entitlement issues, and drafting lot sale contracts with home builders and individual buyers
  • Represent large national furniture manufacturer and retailer in leasing of retail sites throughout Texas, and other real estate and corporate matters
  • Represented national homebuilder in purchase of large tract in San Antonio for future residential lot development
  • Represent local developer in leasing and acquisition of retail shopping center sites throughout Austin area
  • Represented conservancy organization in agreement with city for public/private partnership to redevelop downtown Austin creek area
  • Represent local nonprofit company in the acquisition of homes for renovation and sale of affordable housing for lower-income families
  • Represented several municipal utility districts in the issuance of bonds, water and wastewater contracts, elections, and other related matters
